CHAPTER 7
As promised, here is an enhanced image scan of the mysterious figure first seen in Chapter 5.
Larry Pratt's letter provides additional details about it, as well as a new direction of investigation
that involves petraglyph ruins in Nevada. We're going to take one more crack at image enhancement and will
show you the final results soon. I don't know exactly where all of this is going right now, but in an
amazing sort of way, the ruins in Nevada tie in to what Keith Murphy is researching with his legends of
"Rooftop Dancers". If it seems confusing to you, don't worry. In the next chapter, I'll connect
the dots for you and provide the first draft of our grand unifying theory about what we think
is really happening here. We call it--THE ZONE REALITY. Catchy, huh? Our crack team of
investigators are tirelessly working 24/7 to put this together for you, so hang in there, and all shall
be revealed.
And now, Ladies and Gentlemen, Larry Pratt's letter.
September 15, 2001
Dear Bruce,
You can hardly imagine my stunned expression when I accessed your website and discovered the new
pictures. Fortunately I was near a major university here in Nevada and could wrangle some time on a mainframe
computer to do some analysis on these images. I could hardly contain myself. I have the preliminary
data and, again my friend, I am stunned!
First, and perhaps foremost, the photograph appears to be authentic! I was initially amazed then
skeptical when I noticed that the lighting on the figure appeared to be different than that on the
building. So I asked one of my colleagues at the university to run some spectral analyses on the
image using a digital multi-spectrum scanner. The spectral data indicate two very intriguing things.
First, the figure is indeed lighted by reflected light from the building (the spectral signature of
quartz halide lights is unmistakable on both the building and the form to the right). Second, the
figure itself seems to be emitting a powerful electromagnetic radiation of a unique character. Part
of the figure’s spectral signature closely matches the measurements we got from the infrared pictures
of New York City. But there is something else. Something different. I’ve never seen anything like it!!
At this point all I can conjecture is that the embedded radiation is coming from the suit. There are
traces of signals for polymers, reflective and refractive metals and, as yet, previously unknown mineral
compounds. I can only speculate here, but the only name I could come up with is “polymeric platinum”.
But the spectral signals are all scrambled. Somehow distorted. I know that seems bizarre but ever
since that fellow Bronnis came into our lives the bizarre has become commonplace.
I’ll try to get to a location where I can do some image enhancement. But, if you happen to have the
resources available through other channels I suggest the next step is to use a computer program called
an integrated resolution algorithm. This process takes the data from each adjacent pixel, divides the
area between them and creates a new pixel from the weighted-average value for the old pixels. It’s
the type of technology NASA and intelligence agencies use to “magically” improve image quality. Images
can be improved by three orders of magnitude but beyond that become suspect.
Well, I can’t stay online much longer. I’m still on my way to the Colorado Plateau but already
I’ve had my view of reality shaken by what I’ve seen here in Nevada. Dr. Ecklestein and I have visited
some petroglyph sites and they’re…...astounding! Petroglyphs are these enigmatic images peaked
into rock surfaces by the paleocultures that inhabited the interior West for 10 millennia prior to the
arrival of European-American explorers. Bruce, I swear to you, some of the carvings of legless
anthropomorphic figures can only be interpreted as FLOATING above the ground!!!!!
Yours Truly,
Professor Pratt
